Shavlik HFNetChkPro can configure the Windows XP SP2 Firewall during the deployment process. Configurations can include Enabling or Disabling the firewall, or configuring the firewall to allow access to specific ports from specific systems. Firewall configurations can be created for both domain and non-domain use.

By configuring the firewall to be Enabled, and allowing access to TCP 139 from the Shavlik HFNetChkPro console, it is therefore possible to maintain a secure posture on the host, while simultaneously allowing Shavlik HFNetChkPro to manage the security patches on the firewalled systems.
